Max Raymond Antony's Obituary
Max Raymond Antony the son of Samuel Homer and Tera Mae Whittaker Antony was born September 13, 1934 in Baskin, Louisiana. He passed away on Friday, August 5, 2016, at his residence in Leesville.
Mr. Antony was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Leesville. Max played football for Leesville High School and was a standout pitcher in American Legion Baseball. He played 4 years of baseball at McNeese State College. He spent much of his adult life playing softball. Many of his fondest memories were made playing with the Slagle softball team. He was also an avid fisherman, hunter and golfer.
He served two years in the United States Army, and for 28 years he was a window clerk at the Fort Polk Post Office.
He was predeceased by his parents, and infant son, Gary Grant Antony, and his brother Homer Royce Antony.
He is survived by his wife, Annette Ford Antony; son, Max Edwin Antony and wife Quita Sue; three grandchildren, Ashley, Katie, and Max Samuel and 4 great-grandchildren. He leaves behind special friends Curtis Brumley and Freddy Stratton.
Visitation will be Sunday, August 7, 2016, from 5 pm until 8 pm at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
The family requests that any memorials be made either to the Leesville First Baptist Church building fund or the East Leesville Baptist Church C.I.A.
