Dearest Brenda, Willie, JonJon (Doc) & Jesse, I learned of Miss Mickie's passing Monday evening, and was so very saddened. I felt as though I'd lost a member of my family, and in effect I have. As you know, Mickie was like another mother to me. I have so many wonderful memories of her as I grew up. Surely too many to count. I so loved her sense of humor, her loving ways, and I always respected her advice. I had asked about her, as Willie and Debbie know, in late February and she was doing very well at that time. I had hoped to be able to visit her, but had been very sick and wasn't able to do so. I regret that I was unable to pay my respects or participate in her homegoing. I hope you realize, though, that I was with you in spirit, and in prayer. I will continue to keep the family in my prayers. May God grant you the strength, peace and comfort you need in the forthcoming days. I have no doubt, whatsoever, that you, her children, have "risen up and called her blessed", and recognize how blessed you have been to have such a wonderful, loving, caring, and wise Mother. May God our Comforter and Great Advocate bring healing to you, as only He can, during the time of your loss. Please know that I have such great love for each of you. God bless you all.
