Funeral services for Maudielene "Maudie" Marinel, 81, of DeRidder, LA, will be held Monday, October 5, 2009, at 10 A M, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, with Bishop Gary Pontiff officiating. Burial will follow in Castor Cemetery in Leesville, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mrs. Marinel passed away Friday, October 2, 2009, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Lake Charles, LA.
Born in Leesville, Louisiana, "Maudie" lived most of her life in the Vernon/Beauregard Parish area. She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by husband Richard Marinel of DeRidder; son, Byron Glen Midkiff of DeRidder; daughters, Starrlene Midkiff of DeRidder, Dorothy Spencer of Rosepine, LA, and Jewell Huston and husband Donnie of Kissimee, FL; sister, Bobbie Davis of Silsbee, TX; two brothers, Malcolm Hunt of Monroe, LA, and L. C. Hunt of Ugo, OK; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents Lorene and Luther Hunt, daughter, Linda K. Keel, and sister, Frankie J. Scarborough.
Visitation well be from 6 P M until 9 P M, Sunday, October 4, 2009, and from 9 A M, until time of the service, Monday, October 5, 2009, all at the funeral home.
