Mary Claudine Whiddon's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Claudine Dees Whiddon, 85, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on August 31, 2020 at Beauregard Health System in DeRidder, Louisiana. Claudine the daughter of Claudie L. and Felicia Willia Mae (Leach) Dees was born on January 14, 1935 in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Visitation will begin Friday, September 4, 2020, from 9:45 AM until time of Graveside service starting at 10:30 AM, in the Cypress Cemetery, DeRidder, Louisiana, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA with Rev. Frank Ott officiating.
Mrs. Claudine Dees Whiddon was a devoted Christian and loved member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rebekah Sunday school class.
Claudine was the church treasurer for many years and served on the Church Council. She served on various committees including the Budget/Financial Committee where she was also treasurer, Benevolence Committee, Decorating Committee, Kitchen Committee, Social Committee, Constitution & Bylaws Committee, and was the Assistant church clerk. She worked tirelessly with Operation Christmas Child and spent countless hours preparing for the annual garage sale which was don to raise funds for postage.
She served as a member of the Boise Credit Union Board for 27 years.
Claudine was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 3619 for 40 years. She held the office of President, Treasurer and Secretary which for the past 5 years she served. For many years she was the VFW Chairperson for the Americanism Program.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Ken McDougle and wife Cynthia of DeRidder, LA; five grandchildren Alex McDougle and wife Kaitelin, Valerie McDougle, Blake Savoie, Bailey Savoie, Blaine Savoie; and sister Norma Sadler and husband Frank of DeRidder, LA.
Preceded in death by her parents Claudie L. Dees, Felicia Willia Mae (Leach) Dees; husband Edward Whiddon; son Don McDougle; and sister Wanda Schroeder.
