Funeral services for Mary Belle Watson Green, 87, of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 10 A.M., Tuesday, February 5, 2013, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Frank Ott, Rev. Roger Gill, Rev.Raymon Teston and Music Minister-Larry Sturm,officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Hopewell Community, LA, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Mary passed away Saturday, February 2, 2013, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. until 9 P.M. Monday, February 4, 2013, and from 9 A.M. until time of the service Tuesday, February 5, 2013, in Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Mary was born February 13, 1925, in DeRidder to Robert Jefferson Watson and Bethany Leona Honea Watson. Mary was a native and lifelong resident of DeRidder. She was formerly employed as a sales clerk at Ben Franklin, a self-employed beautician and worked for Green’s Flower Shop, all in DeRidder. She was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church in DeRidder.
Mary’s family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Ernesto Kufoy and his staff, and the nurses, staff and support personnel at Beauregard Memorial Hospital for all that they did during Mary’s extended stay at the hospital.
Mary is survived by one son, Robert Wayne Green and wife Gloria of DeRidder; one sister, Eva Lois Sturm of Copperas Cove, Texas; five grandchildren, James Russell Green, Ronald Wayne Green, Steven Ray Green, Bryan Craig Green, and Shanna Leigh Sanders; and thirteen great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Perrie Green and son, Billy Green. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Temple Baptist Church in DeRidder.
