Funeral services for Mary Ann Walker, 70, of Leesville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 7, 2020 in the New Willow Baptist Church of Leesville with Rev. Toye Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2020 from 9:00 A.M– until time of service at the service.
Mary Ann Walker’s earthly journey began on October 19, 1950 in Washington, LA. She was the tenth child born to the union of the late Lucius Florence Sr. and Alice Savant Florence.
Mrs. Mary Ann Walker was proceeded in death by her parents; Lucius Florence Sr. and Alice Savant Florence, her husband; Granville Walker Jr., five sisters, four brothers.
Mary Ann Walker moved to Leesville, LA. at an early age. She was employed with the Federal Government for over twenty years. She worked with the youth active center, sports and education at Fort Polk, LA. She was a loving wife to the late Granville Walker Jr. and a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
When the angel came and got her on November 25, 2020 the angel of God reached down an plucked a beautiful flower from the earthly garden to be placed in the heavenly bouquet forever.
She leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy daughters; Lalita Hill-Scott of Leesville, LA., Valair Pressley (Reginald), Cathy Howard (Anthony), Wanda Peterson (Reshannon) all of Jacksonville, FL., Jacqueline James (Shawn) of TN., sons; Michael Walker (Rose), Ernest Walker (Linda), one sister; Effie F. Collins (Ralph), seventeen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
