Mary Louise Swain's Obituary
Funeral service for Mary Swain, 62, of Rosepine, LA will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, LA, with Rev. Arlen Smith officiating. Private burial will be at a later date in Drakes Fork Cemetery. Cremation was entrusted to Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and Wednesday, March 19, 2014, from 9 AM until time of the funeral at the funeral home in DeRidder.
Mary was born on December 15, 1951, to Oscar Earl and Mollie Betty Mullins Swain in San Bernardino, CA. She also lived in Lake Charles, LA prior to settling in DeRidder. Although a homemaker for most of her life, Mary had worked in the offshore oil industry as a cook. She loved to play bingo, keno, yatzee and other games with her family. Mary was a “communicator” who loved her family and loved spoiling her grandchildren. She passed from this life on Sunday, March 16, 2014, in Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder.
Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years Johnny Swain of Rosepine, LA: one son, Oscar Swain and wife Felecia of Rosepine: brother, Alvin Earl Deason of Las Vegas, NV: sister, Maxine Hollaert of Apple Valley, CA: one granddaughter: and an extended family of eight “grandchildren” two nieces, Angie and Patty, and many other nieces and nephews.
