Mary Margie Springer's Obituary
With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose legacy will live on for generations.
Mary Margie Springer, age of 81 entered the gates of Heaven on March 3, 2026 surrounded by family.
Mary was born in Evans, Louisiana on June 9,1944 to Virgie Brister. She spent the majority of her years in DeRidder, Louisiana where she built a home centered on family and unwavering love. She demonstrated love and strength throughout her life.
She dedicated her life to being a caring wife and a loving mother to her six children. The unconditional love she shared for her family was what kept everyone going even during difficulties in life.
Her greatest joy was being “Maw Maw.” She delighted in her 18 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren — each one a precious treasure in her heart. Her hugs were safe havens, her kisses gentle blessings, and her smiles constant reminders that love is the greatest gift we can give. Days were brighter because she was there, arms open, ready to embrace anyone who walked through the door.
In her later years, she was a beloved resident of The Woodlands Healthcare Facility, where she formed meaningful friendships and continued to share her love with staff and fellow residents alike. Even there, her room was filled with the most sincere hugs, kisses, and “hey baby”, upon entering her room.
She leaves behind a legacy of love that spans generations. Though she may be absent from our sight, she will forever remain present in our hearts, in every hug we give, every smile we share, and every act of kindness we offer in her honor.
Her life was a testament to the power of unconditional love, and her memory will be cherished always.
She was preceded in death by her mother Vergie Brister, husband Mernie Springer, son Mernie Springer Jr, son Billy Springer, granddaughter Michelle Stokes, and 4 great grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter Debra Stokes and husband Raymond Stokes, Margie Fletcher, Elizabeth Murray, George Springer and wife Paula Springer, 17 grandchildren, 68 great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
