Mary Irene Dove's Obituary
Mary Irene Dove, age 78, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013. Mrs. Dove was a resident of Columbus, NM for the past 19 years, but for a short time lived with her youngest daughter in Georgia until her passing. Irene was born May 18, 1935, in Portland, Oregon to the late Daniel and Mary Jane (Arndt) Piesik. Married to Jack E. Dove from Anacoco, Louisiana on June 30, 1952, they spent 50 years of marriage together before he preceded her in death in 2002. Also preceding her in death was daughter Sherremma Simone Dove (4yrs).
Viewing will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Beech Grove Methodist Church, Highway 111, in Anacoco, Louisiana with Rev. William Jones officiating. Graveside service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Deianna (Dove) Bower and husband Daniel of Burton, MI; son, Jerry Dove and wife Ginger of Griffin, GA.; Maria Dove and life partner, Mark Smith of Hampton, GA. Four grandchildren: Sherrema Ann, Chris, James ‘Chip’, Jr., and Christina Simone. Six great-grandchildren: Christopher, Paxton, Lillian, Adreana (Andi), Kennedy Grace and Samuel.
Irene was a hard worker who had many jobs in her lifetime. With her husband Jack, she drove an 18-wheeler between GA and CA for nine years. She was very fond of Chinese pugs and raised several over the years. She had a big heart and a giving spirit and she truly loved Jesus. You will be greatly missed, Mom and Grandma.
