Mary "Bernice" Craig Cole's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary "Bernice" Craig Cole, on Sunday April 17, 2022, a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. She left us sleeping peacefully at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 2 days, at her granddaughter's home in Evangeline, LA with her family all surrounding her and saying their goodbyes while she joined her husband of sixty-five years and two sons already waiting for her in Heaven that she dearly missed. Bernice was born on Tuesday, July 15, 1930 in Noble, LA to Dewey and Eva Opal Simpson Craig. She was a member of the Broadlands Bible Church for many years, actively involved in volunteering, up until health issues deterred her from helping out like she once did. She is fondly remembered by family and friends forever cooking and baking up a storm for her famous family gatherings and many events. She enjoyed eating her husband's "famous" home-grown garden Celebrity tomatoes, vacationing with family and friends, and spending time with them. She will be dearly missed and is forever in our hearts. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 23, 2022, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home DeRidder, LA. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2022, with visitation starting at 3:00 PM until the time of service which will begin at 4:00 PM, in the chapel with Rev. Mark Land and Rev. Tim Bergen officiating. Interment will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
