Mary Elizabeth Bell's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Bell,
a woman with boundless energy and unwavering spirit of perseverance.
Through her journey of 85 years she touched many lives with her love and friendship.
Mary was born in 1940 and transitioned out of this life on March 20, 2026.
Mary was born in DeRidder to Winfred and Mary K. Moses and graduated from Sugartown High School. She married Charles L Bell in 1962 and they were blessed
with two children. She travelled with Charles and the US Army for 30 years
and had many adventures. She returned/retired to DeRidder, LA to live out
her golden years with her husband. As a dedicated wife and mother, she enjoyed
homemaking, displaying a wonderful knack for organization, interior decorating and
problem solving. She loved simple pleasures like entertaining in her home, going
to the beach, spoiling her grandkids, and was a natural artist. She created art
using many different mediums giving every project her best. She was a gourmet cook
and enjoyed serving with the DeRidder Gourmet Club. She loved collecting seashells
and bird watching at the beach. She was also an active member of the DeRidder
Methodist Church and found joy in fellowship with the women of the church,
working at the yearly church bazaar and many other church activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Mary K. Moses; sister,
Stella Mae and (husband) Don Eicher; brother-in-law Bruce Harper.
Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Bell; daughter, Leslie Bruha; son,
Chuck Bell; two sisters, Winifred Ann Harper and Anita and (husband) Dale
Starkey. Four grandchildren and many other extended family and friends.
She was loved dearly and will be missed.
Visitation will be held on March 25, 2026 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of
DeRidder from 5PM until 7PM. Funeral services will be held on March 26, 2026
at Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder at 2PM.
