Mary C. Anderson's Obituary
Mary Anderson passed away Monday morning, April 1, 2008 at her home in DeRidder, LA. She was born to William Weaver and Maude Belle Covington in Camden, Arkansas.
She attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas. She traveled extensively, having lived in Arkansas, Candada, Alabama, Japan, Georgia, Iran, Virginia, and Italy. For the last 38 years, DeRidder was her home.
Mary was an active member of The Officers Wives' Club, Military Officers Association of America, Thursday Study Club, Red Hat Society, and Rosemary Cady Circle of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three sons, Warren Anderson, Jr. and wife, Toni of Naples, FL; Steve Anderson and wife, Kellie of Bella Vista, Arkansas; and Bill Anderson and wife, Tamara of Houston, TX; five grandchildren, Erica, Diana, David, Lauren, and Kaitlin; one brother, William W. Covington, Jr. of Breman, AL; and two sisters, Virginia Covington of Washington D.C. and Jeanette Willis of Sylacauga, AL.
Mary was preceded in death by Col. (Ret.) Warren Anderson, her husband of fifty-eight years and by her grandson, Carl Anderson.
Memorial services will be at 10:00AM, Saturday, April 5, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in DeRidder with Rev. Mike McLaurin officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 9:00AM prior to service.
Donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.
