Marvin Ray Burrow's Obituary
Marvin Ray Burrow, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Rosepine, Louisiana, on December 4, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on November 27, 1928, in Rosepine, Marvin lived a life rich in love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, Louisiana, with Bro. Lloyd Carroll officiating and Bro. Sam Carroll speaking. Interment will follow at Rosepine Cemetery, Rosepine, Louisiana, with Bro. Wade Carroll Sr. officiating. Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Cody Abbott, Shannon Midkiff, Cory Midkiff, Michael Midkiff, Darrin Middkiff, and James Lee Froemming.
His legacy continues through his children: sons Clifton Burrow and Randall Burrow, both of Rosepine, Louisiana, and daughter Gaye Pickle, also of Rosepine, Louisiana. Marvin's family tree flourished with his grandchildren—Chad Abbott, Marty Cryer, Clifton R. Burrow II, Sandy Barmore, Misty Burrow, and Miranda Burrow—who adored him dearly. He took immense pride in his great-grandchildren: Kayla Abbott, Cody Abbott, Ayden Burrow, Kyleigh Burrow, Brystol Burrow, Gavyn Burrow, Liam Burrow, Kaydence Hines, Drew Barmore, and Cohen Barmore, along with his great-great-grandchildren: Aaliyah, Madeline, Layden, Brooks, and Krew. They were all a source of endless joy for him.
Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Bell Burrow. His beloved wife of 64 years, Edna Midkiff Burrow, was not only his partner in life but also his greatest joy. Son, Gerald Monroe Cryer.
Marvin's passion for life was evident in everything he did. A hardworking man with non-stop energy, he was known for his infectious sense of humor and love of the outdoors. He found peace and happiness in building things and frequently enjoyed fishing trips at the family camp on Toledo Bend. His zest for life and ability to make others smile were hallmarks of his character, earning him a cherished place in the hearts of all who knew him.
Though Marvin has left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever be celebrated by his family and friends. His laughter and unwavering dedication to those he loved will live on in their memories.
In honor of Marvin's legacy, let us remember the importance of family, the joy of laughter, and the beauty of the outdoors, just as he did throughout his remarkable 97 years.
