Martha Laine Witt's Obituary
Martha Laine Witt was welcomed into the kingdom of Heaven at 5:10 AM on Thursday, December 7, 2017. Born in Estonia on January 6, 1924, Martha lived a venturesome life filled with travel and exploration. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, retired SFC William Witt.
A dedicated homemaker, wife, and parent, Martha enjoyed cooking meals for her family and providing a cozy and comfortable environment for her loved ones. She also enjoyed tending her garden, sewing, and needlework. She ceaselessly studied the scripture and strived to live a life that honored her heavenly Father.
Left to honor Martha and remember her love are her three children stateside: Maria McCarty of Laramie, Wyoming, Tom Witt of Leesville and Linda Jernigan of Spanaway, Washington as well as her three sons living abroad: Walter, Rudolf, and Johnes Laine Stensen. Martha has numerous grandchildren, including Morgan Witt Locklear of Leesville, as well as multiple great grandchildren.
Graveside services for Martha will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 in the Old Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville.
