Marsha passed away on her birthday, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 with her son by her side.
She was born in Germany and lived in many other places before settling in Leesville, where she married her husband Charles (Buck) Mayo on April 28, 1974. She was a wonderful wife of 36 years and mother of three boys. She was a hard worker, working three jobs at times. She was a stay at home mom early and she babysit to earn income. She then started working in the Vernon Parish School System as a Cafeteria worker for over 20 years. She took pride in her job and she enjoyed being around those kids every day and to make sure their bellies were full. She had a unique talent, which was she knew every single child’s lunch number before they walked up to her. She was one of the kindest people you would ever meet and she would help anyone in need. She always wore a smile and she had joyful and unique laugh. She was well known at the ballfields, where she would root for her boys and their teammates like they were her own. She loved spending time with her grandkids and spoiling them. She will be missed by all and her infectious smile will be in our hearts forever.
Marsha is preceded in death by her husband; Charles (Buck) Mayo and her parents; Marshall and Ann Burley.
She is survived by her children; Rusty (Ashley) Mayo of DeRidder, LA., Derek (Lawna) Mayo of Leesville, LA., Frank (Katie) Mayo of Springhill, LA., grandchildren; Zachery, Christopher, Lindsey, Paige, Dylan, Bella, Lera, Logan, brothers; Mike (Kathy) Burley of Leesville, LA., David Vickers of Leesville, LA., sister; Debbie Rogers of Baytown, TX.
