Marjorie Pollard's Obituary
Marjorie Cole Pollard, age 85, of Leesville, passed away on November 11, 2014. She had lived in Leesville all her life. Mrs. Pollard was born November 19, 1928 in Peason, La.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Bill and Euna Cole, her husband, Claiborne F. Pollard, her brother, Charles W. Cole, and her son-in-law, Larry E. Monk.
She is survived by one daughter, Charlotte P. Monk, one son, Kenny W. Pollard, of Leesville, and wife JoAnn, four grandsons, Jeffrey Monk, of Houston, Timothy Monk, of Baton Rouge, Mark Pollard and wife Holly, Jonathon Pollard and wife Leila, and three great-grandsons, Wyatt, Gabriel, and Noah Pollard. She is also survived by her sisters, Ada Haymon and husband Wayne of Leesville and Ruth Dixon of Bossier, and her brother, James L. Cole of Leesville, and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Pollard was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesville for 32 years and a faithful choir member. She served the Clerk of Court and the 30th Judicial District Court from 1960 through 1984. An Emeritus member of the Pilot Club, Mrs. Pollard joined in 1969 and served as President from 1980 and 1981. She was also a member of the Kurthwood Homemakers.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, from 5-8 pm and Thursday, November 13, 2014, from 9am-noon at Labby Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Leesville, with the Reverend Jeff Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Labby Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Leesville or the Leesville High School Alumni Association.
