Maria Sanders' Obituary
Funeral services for Maria Sanders, 87, of Leesville, will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday April 20, 2023, in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 6:00 P.M– 8:00 P.M in the funeral home.
Maria was born on January 28, 1936. She passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023 in Leesville in her home with her husband holding her hand, when she went to be with our Lord.
Maria was a loving, mother, wife and grandmother, she was very fond of her dogs and her favorite was “Buddy”. She was very active with American Legion where she run Bingo for the Sr. Citizens for many years. She is a current member of VFW Auxiliary Post 3106 and American Legion Post 387.
Maria is preceded in death by her son; Robert Sanders.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 66 years: CSM Retired Leroy Sanders of Leesville, brother; Rudi Shuch of Germany, sister; Gerti Kopkow of Germany, granddaughter; Kimberly S. Allen of Woodville, TX, grandson; Robert Jacob Sanders of Plesenton, TX, great granddaughters; Alexa Allen, Marie Sanders and great great grandson; June Sanders.
