Margie Sue Hays Lumpkin Cushing's Obituary
Funeral services for Margie Sue Hays Lumpkin Cushing, of Leesville, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville. Burial will follow in the Kisatchie Cemetery in Kisatchie.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 10:00 A.M till time of service in the funeral home.
Margie Sue Hays Lumpkin Cushing, 95, was born in Longleaf, Louisiana on September 11, 1927. She went home to be with her Lord on April 12, 2023.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Eugene Hays and Mary El Zara “Sadie” Terrell Hays Brown; her beloved husband of 49 years and the father of her children, Hiriam Lumpkin; her second husband, Charles B. Cushing; her brother Harold Eugene Hays, her sister, Mary Lee Hays Payne; her sons, Harmon Ray Lumpkin and Royce Alan Lumpkin; her grandson, Christopher Eugene Lumpkin; her sister-in-law, Patricia Roth Hays; her daughters-in-law, Mary Beth Thomas Lumpkin and Hannelore Lumpkin Holcomb; and her nephews, Michael Crumpler and Caroll Quinn.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ronald Eugene Lumpkin of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Aleta Lumpkin Moss and husband Bobby of Leesville, LA; brothers, Hollis M. Hays of Richmond, TX and Maxie R. Hays and wife Carolyn of Hurst, TX; step-children, Charla Spencer of Tyler, TX, Scott Cushing and wife Pam of Leesville, LA, and Karel Cushing-Clore and husband Chris Clore of Tyler, TX; special friend Karen Moresi of Jeanerette, LA; grandchildren, Dan Lumpkin and wife Kelly, Faith Lumpkin, Hope Lumpkin Desormeaux and husband Mike, James Lumpkin, Gail Lumpkin, Mac Moss, Britt Moss and wife Melissa, and Victoria Lumpkin; step-grandchildren, Beth Lumpkin, Larry Lumpkin, and Kenny Lumpkin, 18 great grandchildren; 12 great-great grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends.
