Luz Martinez's Obituary
Funeral services for Luz T. Martinez,73, of DeRidder, will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Beauregard Cemetery. Services are entrusted to the care of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M at the funeral home.
Luz was born on August 16, 1949 in Cuba to her parents, Geraldo Martinez and Maria Tapanez. She passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Martinez was a strong go-getter woman. She loved all animals and raising a garden.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Modesto Carreras.
Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Janoi Cabrera of Alabama, Angel Estevez of Florida and Luis Estevez of DeRidder; daughters, Regla Martinez of DeRidder and Yunia Cabrera of DeRidder; 8 sisters, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.
