Funeral services for Lullean Ardelia King, of Leesville, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 10:00 A.M til 11:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home.
Lullean was born on June 12, 1951 in Oakdale, Louisiana to the Union of William & Virginia Grace. She passed away on July 22, 2021 at her home in Leesville.
Lullean was raised in a Christian family where her parents took her to church every Sunday. She was baptized at an early age at Rising Star Baptist Church in Oakdale. She was an active member of Sandy Hill Baptist Church and also a member of the Church Choir, and you may not know this about her, but she loved to sing.
She graduated from Allen High School in 1969. She was a member of the girl’s basketball team, where she scored 63 points in single game, she was considered to be one of the best ever players at the school.
Some of her favorite things to do include working in her flower garden and playing cards/dominoes. One of the most unusual/interesting jobs she has ever had was working at the Sandy Hill Cafe’ and Fishmarket owned by her Mother.
Lullean was a Loan Operations Clerk/Teller at the Vernon Bank now Merchants & Farmers Bank. She joined the bank on April 4, 1979 and retired on May 31, 2019. She loved her bank family and her customers.
She spent over 30 years with the love of her life and husband, Charles King, she was a loving mother to her son Rodney and he was her life. She loved spending time and cooking with her family and every time they got together there was always a feast to enjoy.
Lullean is preceded in death by her Parents, William and Virginia Grace, Husband, Charles King, Brothers, William Grace Jr., Phillip Grace, Terry Lynn Grace, Stepfather, Herbert Campbell.
Left to cherish her memory is her Son Rodney D. Harris of Austin, TX, Brothers; Joel Grace, Kenneth Grace both of Leesville, LA., Sisters; Gloria Orgain of Leesville, LA., Glenda Hayes of Haughton, LA., Bettye Bryant of Oakdale, LA., Special Niece; Margo Moffett, Great Nieces; Savannah Moffett, Altasia O’Neal, Two Grandchildren; Yahweh Anu “RJ” Harris, Reigh Harris and a host of Nieces, Nephews and many other relatives and friends.
