She loved foremost and always God first, then her husband and children, grandkids and great grandkids. Her family brothers ,nieces, and nephews were all very much a part of her heart. As were her friends. She never met a stranger was always willing to help with whatever means she could. My parents took in foster children over the years too. She loved people.
Her job when she retired she was the chief of military housing. She worked for the government her entire life. This gave her the opportunity to pursue another great love in life traveling. She lived in several different countries in Europe and traveled all over the area including trips to Africa. She traveled all over the U. S. Parts of Canada and Mexico. She loved experiencing new things and foods. Learning something new all the time knowledge was important to her she had a master’s degree and worked on her doctorate. My mom loved to write she was always writing adventure stories for us as children. She always made time for anyone who needed her even if it she didn’t really have it. If you needed her it was important for her. The most important things my mom taught us were love for our Lord and following His Words. Love for All people. Love and appreciation for all God gave us, our planet and the beauty all around us every day. I miss her already!
My mom was able to rise to the top of her field in the career she chose which was quite a feat considering she chose a career that was mostly held by men.
She met several U. S. Presidents as well as many high ranking military leaders. Worked on many projects with them and members of congress.
She loved animals always making a home for strays that wondered up. She loved to cook the consensus was her creations in the kitchen were always delicious. Gardening gave her great pleasure it was another way to be creative and enjoy the beauty of the different colors, shapes and sizes as well as the fragrance from flowering plants and fruits she grew. Fresh veggies from the garden were an added bonus.
She was always ready for a good old fashion board game, cards, dice, dominoes and Yahtzee but probably her favorite was Farkle.
