Lucille Deretha Lantrip Sieren was a long-time resident of DeRidder, Louisiana. She was born May 07, 1938, in Cambria, Illinois to Marion Orval and Vera Malvine Gray Lantrip. Lucille was one of ten children, all of whom grew up in the small coal mining town of Cambria. She and her family sang and played instruments in their small Baptist church and on the radio. While visiting her sister at Camp Polk, she met her late husband, Erland Sieren. They were married after a whirlwind courtship in February 1957. Lucille worked at Beauregard Memorial Hospital and St. Elizabeth Hospital (Beaumont) as a nurse’s aide. She also sat with the elderly. She STOOD by Erland’s side as his helpmate in all his endeavors and lovingly reared three children. She was also a devout member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters. Her faith gave her family a strong foundation in their own faith. Lucille will be remembered for her love for baking, crafts and her green thumb.
Lucille will be welcomed into heaven by her husband, Erland Sieren, parents, Orval and Malvine Lantrip, granddaughter, Ashley Keel and brothers, Larry Lantrip and Garry Lantrip sisters, Vera Lantrip, Marian Allen, Patrica Miller, Victoria Hale, Glenda Smith, Kathy Ziecker and a host of other loved ones. Those left to cherish her precious memory are her children all from DeRidder, Vera Wimberly, Myron (Paula) Sieren, and Maxine (Richard) Borel, her granddaughters, Jennifer Deggs of DeRidder, Lindy (James Jr.) Pearce of Hahira, GA, Erica (Joe) Kiely of Pea Ridge, AR, Desiree (Aaron) Hare of DeRidder, Sara (Kevin) Franks of DeRidder, and grandson, Gage Sieren of DeRidder, and great-grandchildren, Sarah and Kaylee Deggs, Kettley Donat, Emily, and Eason Pearce, Maggie and Alena Kiely, Greta, Macie, and Airie Hare, Connor and Nora Franks, great-great grand, Lucy Pearce and Isabella Rhodes, brothers, John Lantrip and Dale Lantrip, sister, Brenda Wagoner and lots of Illinois nieces and nephews. Her memory will also live on in the hearts of endeared Louisiana families who have adopted the Sieren’s as their own.
The family would like to thank Companion Care of DeRidder and Harbor Hospice of Oakdale for the
excellent care and support through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be sent to the Catholic Daughters Court of St. Barbara #2153 DeRidder of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
