Lucille W. Fletcher's Obituary
Lucille was born June 26, 1925 in the dusty plains of Gause, TX. to Holt and Laura Critchfield Ward during what many called “Tough times”.
Growing up during The Great depression, she later met and married an american soldier, Jim Fletcher, who would survive WWII and the Korean Conflict, and together they would have 5 Children. Being a mother and striving to raise her children, she would pray and ask God’s hand to be around her oldest son during his time of serving his country in Vietnam. Jim and Lucille would go on to raise five children… one daughter and four sons. Having lived a full life, she saw many changes occur.
She would live to see running water and indoor plumbing, derived from pump wells and outhouses. She would see man land and walk on the moon, the advent of computers, cell phones, and i-pods, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and still counting. She was the matriarch of the Fletcher Family the glue that held us together. She served her community as a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 387 and the Eastern Star. She will forever be in our memories and our hearts.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 in the Chapel of Labby Memorial Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. with Dr. Jerry Penefield officiating.
