Lovie Ann Rond's Obituary
Funeral services for Lovie Ann Rond, 74, of Leesville will be Tuesday, September 9th at 11:00 AM in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Brooks Coburn and Rev. Ray Blanchard officiating. The burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Florien, Louisiana. Friends may visit Monday, September 8th from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 pm in the funeral home and Tuesday, September 9th from 8:00 a.m. until time of funeral.
Lovie passed away Saturday, September 6th in her home in Leesville. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Leesville. A long time resident of Florien, La. Mrs. Rond was a Certified Nurse’s Aid at Sabine Medical and a private sitter for Betty Lee. She loved to play bonko and bingo, attending gospel singings and fishing. She loved her extended family at Sunshine Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents Troy and Decie Thaxton; son-n-law Sonny Griffin; brother Vollie Thaxton; sisters Ruby Rond and Martha Foote; daughter Shirley Phillips; stepson Roger Rond; one grandson and two great grandsons.
She is survived by five daughters; Charlotte and husband James Martin of New Llano, La., Trish Griffin of New Llano, La., Helen and husband Johnny Wyatt, New Llano, La. Gwen Brister of New Llano, La., Cynthia and husband Greg Dalton of Florien, La. three step daughters, Sharon and husband George Boswell of Fisher, La. Vicky and husband Ronnie Alford Hornbeck, La and Rebecca Bass of Monroe, La.; two step sons Lenard Rond of Weatherford, Tx., and Gordy Rond of Lake Charles, La.; a very special friend Wilmer Rond of Florien, La. brother Mackie (wife Barbra) Thaxton of Fisher La.; three sisters Geneva Snell of Leesville, La. Melba Parker of Florien, La. and Rebecca (husband Prentis) Hickman of Florien, La., twenty three grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
