Louise Strickland's Obituary
Funeral services for Louise Strickland, 90, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, Jan 3rd, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville, with Rev. Durhl R. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan 2nd, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and then 10:00 AM Saturday, Jan 3rd until service in the funeral home
Louise, the daughter of Royal and Maggie McInnis Martin, was born July, 16, 1924 in Vernon Parish, LA she passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Byrd Regional Hospital
For Louise, her life was her family, she loved to cook “she could make awesome biscuits”, and her boys were everything to her. She loved going hunting with them even if that meant she would fall into the creek while crossing over on a log. She simply “loved her yun’ans”. Louise did not ask for much to be happy “Give her family, remote, can of snuff and a Pepsi and she was good”. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Archie Lee Strickland, and two sons Jimmie Strickland and Charles Raymond Strickland.
She is survived by three sons; Larry (wife, Sue) Strickland, Alvin (wife, Gloria) Strickland and Ronnie Strickland all of Anacoco; seven grandchildren, Pam (husband, Tom) Harris, Tammie (husband, Mark) Phillips, Samantha Strickland, Charlie (wife, Trista) Strickland, Michael (wife, Kristy) Strickland, Nancy (husband, Jeff) Martinez, Brandon Strickland and Keith Strickland; 17 great grandchildren.
