Louis Gill's Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Louis Gill, 84, of Merryville, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2012, in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder. Burial will follow in the Foshee Cemetery in Merryville, Louisiana under the direction of Labby Memroial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2:00p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00a.m. until service time in the Funeral Home.
Mr. Gill passed away Thursday November 1, at his residence in Merryville.
He was a Native and Lifelong resident of Merryville, and retired after serving 27 years at the Beauregard Parish Tree Farm. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Korean Conflict. He loved to fish and spend time in his garden and in the outdoors.
He is preceded in death by his parents: John Kylar Gill and Gertie Foshee Gill; Wife: Nora Gill; Three Brothers: Curtis Gill, Gordy Gill, and Finley Gill; Two Sisters: Lois Lott and Lucille Slaydon.
He is survived by: Two Sons: John Gill and Garland Gill both of Merryville, La.; Two Daughters: Effie McDonald of Merryville, and Carolyn Gill of DeRidder; One Brother: Roy Gill of DeRidder; Three Sisters: Quintilla Richley of DeRidder, Wilda Miller of Merryville, and Joyce Williams of Leesville, La.; Eight Grandchildren: Cody Gill, Randy Gillery, Calllie Gaul, Cory Artis, Justin Williams, Michael Mikeska, Amber Mikeska & Emily McDonald; Three Great Grandchildren: Alexis Mikeska, Denia Gaul, Jacob Gill; and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.
