Lois Davis' Obituary
Lois Davis, a beloved and cherished soul, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Rosepine, Louisiana. She was born on May 13, 1935, in Many, Louisiana to Mernie K. and Mary Oxley Springer.
Lois was a woman of great strength and resilience who faced life's challenges with unwavering determination. Her spirit will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
In her lifetime, Lois found joy in the company of family and friends. She leaves behind her brother, Abraham Springer and his wife Teresa of Gastonia, N.C., as well as her sister, Mary Ann Prater and husband Robert of Leesville. Additionally, she is survived by a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored deeply. Her absence leaves an unfillable void in their hearts but they take comfort knowing that Lois is at peace alongside loved ones once more.
Lois' heart overflowed with love for animals; her faithful companion Tipsy brought immeasurable comfort to her days. She also had an undeniable passion for tending to her yard - it was there that she found solace amidst the beauty of nature.
Throughout her years working in customer care service within the laundry business industry, Lois made countless connections with people from all walks of life. Her outspoken nature endeared many to her; she never hesitated to speak up for what she believed in or lend a helping hand when needed.
However, no aspect of Lois' life compared to the love she held for family gatherings filled with laughter and shared memories. These moments were truly precious to her heart.
Lois has now been reunited with those who went before her: parents, Mernie K. and Mary Oxley Springer; husband, Sonny Davis; sons, Wayne Davis and Albert Davis; as well as siblings, Joyce Waddle, Lucille Gamble, Mernie Springer, Riley Thomas Springer, Russell Springer, Bernie Springer, and Jack Springer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 5th from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Labby Memorial Chapel in DeRidder where friends can pay their respects one last time before saying goodbye.
A Celebration of Life service will follow on Tuesday, August 6th at 10:00 AM led by Sis Betty O'Banion officiating. Finally, Lois will be laid to rest at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder under the compassionate care provided by Labby Memorial Funeral Home
The memory of Lois Davis will live on through those who knew and loved this remarkable woman - may we honor her legacy each day through acts kindness towards others just like she did throughout hers!
