Linda Milner's Obituary
Linda Milner was born on August 21, 1945 to her parents, Earnest N. & Pearl Killen Thompson in Fort Worth, Texas. She passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 at her home in DeRidder, Louisiana. She was predeceased by her beloved parents. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 57 years: Ted L Milner. She is also survived by her dear cousin: Glenda Austin and her husband Jeff Austin of Natchitoches. Brothers-in-law: Donald R. Milner & his wife Patti Milner, Robert W. Milner & his wife Anne Milner. Nieces and nephew: Megan Layman & her husband Todd Layman, Chris Milner & his wife Erin Milner, Betsey Norton & her husband Dave Norton; Great-nieces and nephew: Holly Layman, Lillie Mae and Mary Norton, Audrey and Joe Milner.
Linda was employed for over 30 years as an Administrative Assistant in the AG office at Fort Polk. She graduated from Northwestern University in Natchitoches, Louisiana with a degree in Library Science.
Linda enjoyed spending time with friends, her pets and her passion for art. She spent many hours at the RealArt DeRidder Arts Cooperative where she was an accomplished artist. Her paintings are hung in several doctors’ offices and homes in DeRidder. She adored her dog Mystery and her many cats. She and Ted spent much of their early retirement traveling in their motorhome where they visited many states as far away as Alaska.
Mrs. Milner’s family will plan a memorial service later this summer to be announced to honor her life.
