Linda Sue Dace Canoy's Obituary
Linda Sue Dace Canoy, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, in Leesville, Louisiana. Born on June 21, 1947, in Sullivan, Missouri to Quentin and Geneva Dace—who preceded her in death—Linda lived a life marked by love and generosity.
She is survived by her daughter, April Longsworth (Jay) of Leesville; brothers, Jimmie Dace (Doris) of Missouri, and Ralph Dace of Leesville; sisters, Mary Ann Center of Missouri, Billie Joyce Witt of Missouri, Dianna May Richards (Dave) of Ohio, Judy Kay Hartung (Paul) of Missouri, and Beverly Daniel of Missouri; grandchildren, Emillio Canoy, Preston Canoy, and Ashley Canoy; great granddaughter, Evie Canoy and a host of nieces and nephews. She also loved her Canoy Family.
Known for being big-hearted and always willing to lend a helping hand or offer support wherever needed, Linda exemplified what it meant to be selfless. A hard worker throughout her life dedicated to providing for those she loved most deeply enriched the lives around her with unwavering strength.
In addition to caring for others—she found joy in watching old movies, and everything Christmas. Her passion extended into the community where she enjoyed working behind the scenes with a local dance company.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville with Rev. Wesley S. Manning officiating. Burial will follow in the Canaan Baptist Cemetery in Leesville. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
