Lillie Jewel Williams' Obituary
Funeral services for Lillie Jewel Williams, 84, of Hornbeck will be held Friday, July 21, 2017, at 10:00 am at Oak Grove Bible Baptist Church in Hornbeck, with Bro. John Northway and Bro. Edwin McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Hornbeck.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, July 20th from 4:00 pm until time of service at the church. Services are under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Mrs. Williams passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at her residence in Hornbeck.
Mrs. Williams was born on August 11, 1932, to Robert Steven and Lucy Owers Moore on Peason Ridge. In March of 1987, she retired as a cafeteria manager at Hornbeck High School, to come home, and help her husband on the farm.
She enjoyed life, anytime you saw her, she had a smile on her face. She loved working in her flower beds, and if she wasn’t able to get outside, you could find her quilting or painting.
Her grandkids were her pride and joys, especially her great-granddaughter Harper. They would sit out on the porch and play with all of Maw Maw’s puppies, and eat jello. She would sit for hours, and listen to her grandson, Cody play the piano, while she would sing along to some of her favorite hymns.
Mrs. Williams is preceded in death by her father and mother; one brother, Glen Moore, and husband, James “Sam” Williams.
Left to cherish her memory is, three sons & daughters-in-law, Anthony & Shannon Williams of Hornbeck, Rodney & Leah Williams of Hornbeck and Stevie & Kirou of Mililani, Hawaii; one brother, Robert Lee Moore & Gail of Hornbeck; one sister, Linda Greer & Wesley of Noble; special sisters-in law, Daisy Likes & Shirley Williams; seven grandchildren, Megan Hillman & Randall of Simpson, Morgan Belsha & Tyler of Hornbeck, Cody Williams & Kraig Dunn of Houston, TX, Duncan Williams of West Lake, KJ, Yusuke and Stephanie Kile Williams all of Mililani, Hawaii; one great-granddaughter, Harper Hillman and soon to be great grandson Hagen Case Hillman; adopted grandkids, Allie & Kealey Pridgen; special friends, Coydell & Jeanette Jackson, Larry & Shaunda Pridgen and Jerry & Betty Green.
