Lewis Ben Plummer's Obituary
Funeral services for Lewis Ben Plummer, 79, of Anacoco, will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 in the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville with Rev. Mark Christian, and Rev. Jeffrey Pitman, Rev. Bill Pitman Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery in Anacoco, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
Lewis was born on March 6, 1940 in Leesville, LA to his parents, Barney and Mae Cook Plummer. He passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at The Woodlands Healthcare Center in Leesville.
In 1958, when Lewis graduated from Anacoco High School, he and his brother-in-law left to go to work moving house trailers, and he missed the opportunity to walk with his graduating class. He spent several years working at the plywood mill in Florien before going to work at NAPA Auto Parts. He retired as Manager of NAPA in Leesville after working for over 35 years. He loved gospel music, RV’ing, and old cars. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville. His greatest passion was his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Lewis is preceded in death by his parents; His Brother: George Lewis Plummer; His Sister and Brother–in–law: Yvonne and Eugene Beavers.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife: Jean Plummer of Anacoco, LA.; Son: Doug Plummer and his wife Lori of Anacoco, LA.; Grandchildren: Stephen & Kaitlyn Briscoe of Anacoco, LA., and Austin & Lindsay McCurry of New Orleans, LA.: And two twin great grandchildren on the way; His Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law: Rose & Larry Bruce of Leesville, LA; His Nephew and Niece: Donald and Marla Beavers of Anacoco, LA.; Nephew; Ethan Bruce of Leesville, LA, Daughter by choice: Kathy Hooper of Anacoco, LA.
