Lester A. Welch's Obituary
Graveside services with military honors for Lester Allen Welch, 68, of Leesville, LA, will be held at 2 P M Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA. Interment will follow in cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Lester, the son of Archie Clement and Mary Laverne Layton Welch was born on January 10, 1949, in Brooksville, FL. He was a disables military retiree of the U. S. Army and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam during the war. He was the recipient of two Purple Hearts and the Bronze Star, among other military honors. He had lived in Leesville for the past twenty years and loved animals, especially his cats. He would help anyone and had a heart of gold and leaves many personal friends.
He is survived a son, Edmore Welch; two brothers, Ronnie Welch of Plant City, FL, and David Welch; two sisters, Mary Quisenberry of Melbourne, FL, and Peggy Fox of Leesville, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jerry Welch and Cecil Welch.
