Leslie Roshong's Obituary
Leslie Leroy Roshong passed peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Cooper Baptist Church, with Bro. Roy Hennessey officiating. Burial will be held at Cooper Cemetery under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Leslie was born to his parents Loyce and Essie Roshong on July 10, 1939 in Bloomburg, Texas, which he was the youngest of seven children.
He owned and operated a business in Leesville since 1953. The first was started when he purchased a log truck at 14 years old. These included a Phillips 66 station, a Conoco station and auto repair, a salvage yard, a wrecker service, and a mobile home moving business for 58 years. In his leisure time, he enjoyed auto racing, playing music, and traveling to the mountains. He found the most pleasure in simply helping others.
Leslie was proceeded in death by his parents; Loyce and Essie Roshong, his daughter Jeanna Southard, his brothers; Lavaughn and Ernest Roshong, his sisters Esther, Francis, and Velma.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gretchen Lee Roshong, brother; Loman Roshong (Carol), son; Doug Roshong (Shelia) , daughters; Tracy Smith (Rick), Patti Jeane (Tommy) and Donna Erwin, granddaughters; Shailee Fisher (TW), Casey Clark (Nathan), Jennifer Parker, grandson; Tylynn Smith, Jason Parker (Courtney), Terry Lynn Parker, Jefferson L. Erwin Jr., Thomas Allen Erwin, James David Parker, Jr. Jason Lavon Parker, James Michael Higginbotham, David Higginbotham, great grandchildren; Bradyn Fisher, Landyn Fisher, Tanner Parker, Kayli Parker, Hunter Parker, Tierra Parker, Memphis Grappe, Caston Erwin, Brently Erwin, Brylyn Erwin, Joshua Holmes, Trent Holmes, Andrew Shackleton, brothers in law; Randy Wheeler (Tina) and Jerry Wheeler, sisters in law; Tenita Summers, Luegene Quails (Wayne) and a numerous loved nieces and nephews.
