Leo J. Liles Jr.'s Obituary
Leo J. Liles, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Anacoco, Louisiana on September 07, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on September 18, 1941 in Leesville, Louisiana, Leo was the son of Leo and Lizzie Jane Allen Liles and the brother of Ronald Liles, Mary Williams, Mildred Wisenberger, Frances Bassett, Sudie Rhodes, Catherine Slaydon and Helen Hayman who preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 56 years, Ida Self Liles.
He is survived by their children, Earl and Darla Reines, Mary and Rob Curtis, Dewayne and Melanie Liles, and Cathy Liles. He also leaves behind his brother, Dewey Liles, and his grandchildren, Clay and Jessie Holbert, Autumn Bodine, Brent and Emily Trichel, Sean and Katlyn Bradley and Adam and Grace Chaisson. He also leaves his great grandchildren, Leah, James, Bryce, Zayden, Kyson, Raegan, Sutton and Penelope, and many nieces and nephews, including Rebekah Williams and Missy Hillman.
Leo was a member of the Anacoco United Pentecostal Church for over 50 years where he served faithfully on the Board of Directors. One of his favorite Bible verses that he loved to quote was Deuteronomy 6:4, "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord." He graduated as valedictorian from Pickering High School in 1959, where he played center for the basketball team. He retired from Ft. Polk Civil Service and the Vernon Parish District Attorney's office and also worked for the Vernon Parish Sheriff's Department.
Visitation Services will be held on Friday, September 12 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, Louisiana. He will be laid to rest at Good Hope Cemetery in Anacoco, Louisiana at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for the care and comfort they provided to Leo and his family in his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
