Lee Vincent McLaughlin Sr.'s Obituary
Lee Vincent McLaughlin, Sr., 68, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed away on October 15, 2025, in DeRidder. He was born on June 1, 1957, to Father Lee Vincent Potter and Mother Shirley Mae Barber.
Lee was a man of strength and character – a patriot who lived with honor, compassion, and courage. He was known for his loyalty and determination, always working hard at everything he set his mind to. Truck driving was his lifelong passion, and he took great pride in his work on the road. In his free time, Lee enjoyed fishing, tending to his plants, watching western movies, and spending time at the dirt track races. His faithful companion, his dog Rizzo, was always by his side.
He is survived by his sons, Shawn McLaughlin and wife Alissa of Rosepine, Louisiana, and Lee McLaughlin, Jr.; his daughters, April McLaughlin of DeRidder, Louisiana, Danielle McLaughlin of Jefferson City Tennessee, and Hailee McLaughlin of Yakima, Washington; grandchildren Charlie, Jeremiah, Seth, Taylen, Ethan, Ayden, Karleigh, Steven, and Austin; and great-grandchildren Baylor, Beau, Evangeline and several others who lovingly called him “PawPaw. “
Lee was preceded in death by his son Robert Carl McLaughlin; daughter Shirley Glover; brothers Joseph McLaughlin and Chuck Vanover.
Serving as pallbearers will be Shawn McLaughlin, Ayden McLaughlin, Ethan McLaughlin, Jeremiah Shirley, Charlie McLaughlin, and Seth Shirley.
Lee’s legacy of love, resilience, and dedication will continue to live on through his family and all those who were blessed to know him.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 2:00PM at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM, also at Labby Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Wesley Manning officiating. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder.
