Layla Mae Brooks' Obituary
Funeral Services for Layla Mae Brooks, 75 of DeRidder, LA, will be held at 11 A.M., Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Friendship Baptist Church near DeRidder with Rev. John Gray and Rev. Curt Iles officiating. Burial will follow in Whitaker Cemetery near DeRidder under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until 9 P.M., Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder and from 9 A.M. until time of the service, Wednesday, October 14, 2009 in Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brooks passed away Saturday, October 10, 2009 at her home in DeRidder. She was born in Orange, Texas and had lived in DeRidder since 1974. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, and was an avid doll collector and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ted R. Brooks, SR. and grandson, Charles A. Hansen.
Mrs. Brooks is survived by son, Teddy R. Brooks, Jr. and wife Bridget of Leesville, L A; daughters Debra A. Hansen and husband Bubba, and Sandra L. Gray and husband John, both of DeRidder; five grandchildren, Kelly (& Cody) Danielson, Kelsey L. Gray, Heather (& Dave) Newton, Damion J. Conley and Kayla D. Gray; three great grandchildren, Logan Newton, Tatum Newton and Hogan Danielson.
