Laura, the daughter of William Stephen and Virginia Bell Marlow Werner was born on December 31, 1946, in Baskerville, CA. She passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, in Lake Charles, LA.
Laura who many knew as “Katie” spent most of her life in Fort Worth, TX working as a hair dresser. Late in life deciding to leave the “Big City” to reside in Evans to be closer to her children, and grandchildren & other people she would later call friends. You could often find her soaking up the sun with us down at the river, laughing and telling stories of “The Good Ole Days.” She loved to dress up for “Mardi Gras” every year even before residing in Louisiana “Only Katie.” She was a dedicated, die hard Dallas Cowboy fan; you could often find her watching a football game, cheering them on faithfully no matter how bad the score might have been. But mostly you could find her surrounded by family sitting around a campfire singing Bobby McGee, having cookouts, laughing, and making memories that we’ll cherish and hold dear to our hearts forever. Her loving wide and signature smile is already being missed by us all, so much. There’s an emptiness in our hearts, that can never be filled quite like she did.
She is survived by her son, Roy Jeane of Evans; daughter, Jennie Jeane of Evans; brother, Steve Werner of Ogden, Utah; sister, Robin Ray of Sherman, TX and two grandchildren, Austin Jeane of Dallas, TX and Benjamen Hamm of Evans.
