Laura Francis Doyle's Obituary
Laura Francis Shepherd Doyle, 64, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Tuesday, August 26, 2014. She was born on May 31, 1950, to Sonya and Selma Ann Dixon Shepherd. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Laura’s cremation was entrusted to Labby Memorial Funeral Homes, Inc. of DeRidder. Laura had requested her cremains be scattered on the beaches of Kauai, Hawaii.
Laura was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and a very active member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She was very passionate about her family and loved spending time with her two grandchildren. She was an avid cat lover and loved the beaches of Kauai, Hawaii.
She is survived by two sons, Geoffrey Doyle and fiancée Jorie, and Jonathan Doyle and wife Amanda, both of DeRidder, LA; her mother Selma Dixon Shepherd of Greensboro, NC; two brothers, David Shepherd and Paul Shepherd, both of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Camryn and Paxton Doyle, both of DeRidder; nephews Shane Shepherd and John Paul Shepherd; and niece, Christen Shepherd; and many friends and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father Sonya Shepherd.
