L H "Lee" West's Obituary
Services for L H “Lee” West, 84, of Rosepine will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of DeRidder with Rev. Tim Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Marlow Cemetery in Pitkin, LA under the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Visitation will be begin at 12:00 PM until the time of service in the church.
L H “Lee” West was called home to be with the Lord December 18th 2020. L H West was a man dedicated to the Lord and to his family. Before meeting his wife of 63 years, Lee West enlisted in the US Army and served for 20 years and rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class before he retired in 1975. While serving his country, he had six children born in various parts of the world. He and his wife Merle are dedicated members of Marlow Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School Leader. Lee West led Morning Prayer and welcomed members and visitors to church. He brought warmth to each and every day of his life.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Merle West, daughter Patricia Nicholson and husband Nicholas Nicholson, daughter Barbara Fletcher and husband Danny Fletcher, daughter Diane Hyatt and husband Gary Hyatt, son Russell West and wife Stephanie West, daughter Jan Rouleau and husband Louis Rouleau, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and his surviving sister Eva Mae Dula.
He will be remembered by his laughter and his service to his community and the love he had for his family. He is greeted in Heaven by his youngest daughter Courtney, his parents and his brothers Carl, Roger, Charlie, Johnnie, Paul, Harold and his sister Mary.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are the United States Army Honor Guard Servicemembers, with Full Military Honors.
Those honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are Daniel Fletcher, Grant Hyatt, Ryan Hyatt, Gary Hyatt, Zane West, Zachary West, Louis Rouleau, Josh Nicholson, Nick Nicholson and Danny Fletcher.
