Kenneth J. Marlin's Obituary
Kenneth J. Marlin entered peacefully into rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 16 days, at Dubuis Hospital of Alexandria, Louisiana with his family by his side. Kenneth was born on Wednesday, October 30, 1929 in Clover Bend, Arkansas to Sanford Marlin and Edith Evans Marlin.
Visitation will begin Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 1:00 PM until the time of the funeral service which will begin at 2:00 PM, at Mount Olive Baptist Church, located at 13408 LA-10, Pitkin, LA with Rev. Dennis Shoddy, Pastor of Cloverdale Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA, officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Branch Cemetery, Pitkin, LA with full military honors. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of DeRidder.
Kenneth retired from the Army after 20 years of service. He loved to go camping, fishing, and woodworking. He was a Christian man and was a former member of Mt Olive Baptist Church in Pitkin and an active member of Cloverdale Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA. He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Gwendolyn Marlin Rease and husband Wilbur "Ward' of Lugoff, SC, and Tina Marlin of Woodworth, LA; nine grandchildren, Ashley Rease Hord, Blake Rease, Joey Wrubel, Meagan Wrubel Lewis, Justin Wrubel, Jacob Wrubel, Christopher Brownlee, Zachary Brownlee, and Tiffany Brownlee; eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Sanford Marlin and Edith Marlin; his first wife, Nina Haymon Marlin; second wife, Vada R. Marlin; daughter, Belinda Marlin Whitaker.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be the Untied States Army Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cloverdale Baptist Church in Alexandria, LA.
