I can hear your voice, "apply yourself." All I wanted was for you to be proud of me, for the validation that I'd lived up to what you knew I could be. So often, the pursuit of more was because of those words in the back of my mind. I loved you more than I can tell you, I just wish I had told you more. The summer we created the watch that could do it all, little did we know apple would come out with it 10 years later. I'll never forget fishing with you, "helping" at your lawn mower shop, in the office buildings, the bait shop, picking out koi. But possibly my favorite.... the olives in your martini. I'd suck em dry then dip em back in. You never minded, not one bit. I was your girl for as long as I can remember, and that'll never change. I love you, grampa.
