LABBY MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME
Funeral services for Kenneth W. Bond, 84, of DeRidder, Louisiana, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in DeRidder, Louisiana with Rev. Josh Eubanks officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Lewis Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2018, and before the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Kenneth was born January 15, 1934, in Silsbee, TX, to Beaton E. and Mertie Ann (Stracener) Bond. He passed away on Monday, April 23, 2018, at Woodlands Nursing Home in Leesville, LA.
A native of Silsbee, TX, he lived in DeRidder, LA, for most of his life. He was a member of the Pipeliners Union 798, and worked building pipelines all over the United States and Japan. He was a pilot with an instrument certification and loved flying. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of DeRidder since 1963.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Doretha S. Bond; son, Gary W. Bond of DeRidder, LA; daughter Sharon Rene’ Bond of DeRidder, LA; 3 grandchildren, Micah Pruitt, Jonathan Pruitt and Sarah Pruitt; and nephew, Danny Sizemore.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beaton E. and Mertie Ann (Stracener) Bond; and sister, Beatrice Sizemore.
