Kathy Gamble Stone's Obituary
Funeral services for Kathy Gamble Stone, 39, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Leesville. Burial will follow in the Leesville Memorial Cemetery in Leesville, LA under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 17, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Labby Memorial Funeral Home.
After a brief illness, Kathy Gamble-Stone was called into eternal rest on April 12, 2011, at her home, in Leesville, Louisiana. She was the daughter of the late Mrs. Margaret Carraway-Smoot and Mr. Willie James Gamble, Jr. She was born in Sumter, South Carolina on October 2, 1971. Mrs. Brenda Williams Fogle, step-mother raised young Kathy.
Kathy attended Maryland Northwestern in Aldphie, Maryland, but she graduated from Sumter High School in 1989. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She married to Charles Edward Stone, Sr. To this union they reared two children, Darius Edward Stone and Nyashia Monique-Mary Stone.
Kathy served four years in the United States Army, a FCC provider on Fort Polk, LA and later a substitute teacher in Vernon School District. At her time of demise she was a student in Upper Iowa University, majoring in Sociology.
Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, and their two children. Charles Stone; Darius and Nyashia. She also had two stepchildren; Charles Edward Stone, Jr. of Chicago and Brittani Jasmine Stone of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Two brothers, James Gamble, Jr. of Paxville, South Carolina and Tony Brown of Sumter South Carolina. Three sisters; Keala Jacobs and Juanita Kullan of Columbia, South Carolina and Amira Gamble who is currently stationed at Kitsat/Bangor, Silverdale, Washington. She leaves behind 8 aunts and uncles, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives.
