Kathy (Scarborough) Midkiff Burley's Obituary
Kathy (Scarborough) Midkiff Burley was born in Leesville, Louisiana on October 01, 1951, the daughter of Elmer Wayne Scarborough and Valerie Dovie Jordan. GOD called her home on March 29, 2025 in Leesville.
Kathy's quiet strength and courage served her well throughout the years. She put up a good fight until the very end. Her beautiful blue eyes always had a sparkle in them even though she was hurting. She met each day with a smile, proving that true strength can come from within.
She loved sitting on her porch enjoying the company of family and friends and on Sunday mornings family would gather for her amazing egg gravy and biscuits.
Those fortunate enough to know Kathy, experienced her as a kind, loving and generous person always putting others before herself at times.
She treasured being a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. When she could she shared every moment of the day with her loved ones.
Kathy is preceded in death by her parents and sisters Terry and Linda Bilbo.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike Burley of Leesville. Children, Ernie (Katrina) Midkiff of Austin, TX, Rick Midkiff of Leesville, Melissa (Steve) Connell of Shreveport, step-children Tim Burley of Leesville and Julie (Nathan) Burley of Lufkin, TX; two brothers, Danny (partner Jailynn) Scarborough and Johnny (Cindy) Scarborough both of Leesville; one sister Brenda (George) deBram of Mandeville and a very special sister Gaye Scarborough of Leesville; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation service honoring Kathy will be held on Saturday, April 05, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Mark Christian presiding during visitation at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
