Kathryn "Mama Kay" Scott's Obituary
Funeral services for Kathryn “Mama Kay” Scott, 71, of Pickering, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Arlis Smith, Rev. Edgar Evans and Sonny Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Visitation will be held Sunday, November 10th from 5 pm - 9 pm, then Monday, November 11th, from 8 am until service time in the chapel.
Kathryn, the daughter of William Oscar and Ella Elizabeth Scott Wood, was born November 8, 2013, in Tampa, FL. She passed away Friday, November 08, 2013, at her residence in Leesville.
Kay, (Mama Kay) was a very caring and giving person who put everyone’s needs before her own. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her home was always open to help others in times of need, even stray animals. She loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening and her farm animals. She was a great cook and she always made plenty for whoever showed up. Her family and friends will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her Husband, A. L. “Buddy” Scott of Pickering, LA; Daughter, Sherry Goodwin and husband, James “Catfish” of Leesville; Brothers, Michael L. Wood & wife Patricia of Milwaukee, WI, William H. Wood & wife, Darlyn of Leesville, LA and John A. Wood and wife Lucille of Pickering, LA; Sister, Francis I. Franconi & husband, Carol of Valrico, FL; Grandchildren, Christopher Scott, Craig Scott & Crystal Bowers; Great Grandchildren, Rylan Scott and Chloe Bradford and host of friends, nephews and nieces.
