Julie Marie Gore-Dukes' Obituary
Julie Marie Gore-Dukes, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Born on October 2, 1968, in DeRidder to Robert E. Gore Sr. and Murrel M. Phillips. Julie was the embodiment of love and kindness throughout her life.
She is survived by her mother, Murrel M. Phillips, and stepfather, James A. Husband of Dequincy, LA; brothers, Robert Wayne Gore and his wife Jennifer of DeRidder, LA; Robert Earl Gore II and his wife Heather of Riverside, TX; Bill Gore of Riverside, TX; Robert Earl Gore Jr. of Milam, TX; sisters, Lisa L. Gore Hoffpauir and her husband Karl of DeRidder, LA; Katherine D. Gore Gaston and her husband Ricky of Lake Charles, LA; Angela D. Phillips Ceasar of Houston, TX—she was their glue—a constant source of unconditional love whose laughter could light up any room.
Her heart truly knew no bounds as she opened it wide to 9 nieces, 8 nephews and various number of great nieces and great nephews all carry cherished memories of time spent under the warmth of her affection.
Julie’s passions were many, but always centered on family. Her love for others mirrored the vastness of Texas itself.
In addition to being an avid animal lover who cared deeply for every creature—from chickens to pigs—Julie had a knack for helping others whenever possible, whether through small acts or grand gestures alike. She also enjoyed shopping.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert E. Gore Sr., husband Jack Dukes, sister Sharon E. Gore, along with grandparents Elton M. Phillips & Mildred Marie Burgess Phillips, as well as Hardy Lewis & Laurie Corsey Gore.
Funeral services will be held at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville at 2:00 P.M. On Friday, April 17, 2026. Visitation will take place starting at 11:00 A.M until service at the funeral home.
As we gather together amidst our grief let us remember how Julie taught us about compassion without limits—and may we strive daily embodying even half the grace she so effortlessly shared among us all .
