Funeral services for Joseph Walker Speight, 66, of Leesville will be Friday, August 8 at 2:00 PM in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville. The burial will follow in the Evans Cemetery in Evans, Louisiana. Friends may call Thursday, August 7th from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm in the funeral home.
Joseph passed away Monday, August 4th at Byrd Regional Hospital in Leesville, Louisiana.
He was born in Evans, Louisiana; he was a life long resident of Vernon Parish. He was preceded in death by father J.P. Speight; mother Gladys Speight; brother James Austin Speight and stepson Gary Brinkley.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Dallas Doreen Betterton Speight of Leesville, Louisiana; daughters Barbara Drake of Jay, Maine; Shonda Jones of Leesville, Louisiana; Karen Pritchette of Georgetown, Texas and Jo Ann Speight of Leesville, Louisiana; and sister Carolyn Woodard of Deridder, Louisiana.
Mr. Speight was an Air Force veteran. He enjoyed playing dominos and pool.
Services are under the direction of the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
