Joseph "KB" Kelton Baggett's Obituary
Joseph "KB" Kelton Baggett, 59, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 4, 2025, in Alexandria, Louisiana. Born on December 11, 1965, in DeRidder to Joe and Margie Jones Baggett, KB was a man whose spirit resonated with the warmth of family love and the joy of life’s simple pleasures.
KB is survived by his cherished children: Cole Baggett; Morgan Baggett; and Madeline "Gracy" Baggett. He leaves behind two devoted sisters, Connie Wilson and Donna Sexton along with five adoring grandchildren—Blayklei, Avie, Fisher, Oliver, and Silas—who were the light of his life. The mother of his children Lisa Johnson remains an integral part of their shared journey.
He is preceded in death by his father Joe Baggett; mother Margie Baggett; and brother Thomas Baggett. Their absence will be felt deeply as KB's legacy continues through those he loved most dearly.
A passionate outdoorsman at heart, KB found solace in nature while fishing or hunting—a pastime that brought him immense joy during his final days spent casting lines with his nephew and grandchildren. His laughter echoed through the woods as he expertly called turkeys or coyotes with unmatched skill. But it wasn’t just about the hunt for KB; it was about creating memories that would last a lifetime.
In addition to being an expert caller for various game animals—including owls and crows—KB had a special talent for storytelling that captivated everyone around him. No one could weave tales quite like he could; each story told carried laughter wrapped in nostalgia that drew friends and family closer together.
Music played another significant role in KB's life as he delighted in singing old country songs—a testament to both his roots and passions. Whether gathered around a campfire or sharing moments at home with loved ones after dinner—the melodies flowed freely alongside hearty laughs.
Above all else was KB’s unwavering love for his children and grandchildren. He made sure they knew how much they meant to him every single day—with heartfelt words exchanged before parting ways: “I love you! God bless you! I’ll see you later.” These phrases encapsulated not only who he was but also how profoundly he cared for those fortunate enough to know him.
As we remember Joseph "KB" Kelton Baggett today—and always—we hold onto these precious memories tightly within our hearts until we meet again someday under brighter skies.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to honor this remarkable man who touched so many lives throughout his journey here on Earth.
