Joseph E. Dionne's Obituary
Memorial services for Joseph E. Dionne, 80, of Cravens, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville, with Rev. Arlin Smith officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Joseph, the son of Ozime and Blanch (Pelletier) Dionne, was born April 12, 1935, in Limestone, ME. He passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, in Alexandria, LA.
"Joe" was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from the Elizabeth Paper Mill and Noble Oil. He was a member of The Gideons International, as well as a member of Providence Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Roland, Arnold and Burnell Dionne and great-granddaughter, MaKenna Schmidt.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gloria Dionne of Cravens, LA; daughters, Monica Dionne of Cravens, LA and Angela (Charles) Johnson of Pitkin, LA; sisters, Ethel Sullivan of Caribou, ME and Dorothy Inman of Lees Summit, MO; grandchildren, Candice (Martin) Schmidt, Kerry (Kevin) Fontenot, Clinton Calhoun, Casie (John) Compton and Kyle Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Alston and Aiden Fontenot, Tanner and Liam Compton, Collin Calhoun and Caleb Schmidt.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International.
