Graveside services for Jon L. Tucker, 84, of Anacoco, Louisiana will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, under the direction of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville.
Jon L. Tucker, 84, of Anacoco, departed this life on April 9, 2013.
He proudly served his country for thirty years in the Marine Corps and Navy, where he received decoration for his service. After military retirement, he became a police patrolman with the City of DeRidder. As an officer, he won marksmanship awards for sharpshooting. Later in life, he was Head Groundskeeper at Fort Polk Military Base.
He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed gold mining, beekeeping, and gardening.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Cooper; two grandchildren, Corey Jacobsen (Christine) and Jessica Jacobsen Wah (Joseph); two great-grandchildren, Tai S. Wah and Tucker; brother, Jimmie Tucker and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, and four siblings.
